Tom Henning Øvrebø… because of his staggering poor judgement as referee on today’s UCL match, Chelsea is not the second finalist to face Manchester United at Rome, in what would have been a dreamed final not only for me, and millions of fans of the club, but for everybody at Chelsea, especially Captain John Terry. Øvrebø didn’t call at least two or three clear penalty kicks on favor of Chelsea FC, all of them hands as I recall from Pique, Eto’o and Alves, and one in favor of Barcelona FC. His decision even harmed Barcelona with an unfair expulsion of Eric Abidal, who will miss the final at Rome, though the real victim here is Chelsea. But what else can we say about him? Clearly he is not the responsible for Chelsea’s draw against Barcelona… at least not entirely.

Unfortunately Chelsea was a victim of their own bad luck, not so much of conformism as I heard other people say. They kept trying and trying, perhaps not in an effortful manner, but they did deserve their revenge match against Man. U. for the title. Also unfortunately the outstanding performances by Michael Essien, Jose Bosinwa, Didier Drogba, Petr Čech, Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda and the rest of the team wasn’t enough to carry on to the final.

A Barcelona that has been so glorified all this season really didn’t show anything on the pitch against the Blues. And with a strike of luck, Andres Iniesta struck as hard as luck and scored a Goal in the last minute. This sent Michael Essien’s goal, maybe not to oblivion, because it was a great goal, as great (even greater I dare to say, certainly not in meaning…) as Zinedine Zidane’s Goal against Bayern Leverkusen for Real Madrid’s 9th European championship, but to be a shortage on the score board, giving a tie to the Catalans that puts them on the final thanks to the away goal. Barcelona proved that they are not the greatest club on the planet as many people claims, and that a lot of their players are not even the half most people say, they are actually playing on a league (LFP) that is not going trough it’s best moment, you could even call it mediocre. Most of Barcelona’s rivals seem to be overwhelmed by all the talking surrounding the team.

There is really not much to say anymore, except that Chelsea really deserved to win and that was mugged. Things are as they are now, not much can be done.

Chelsea, tonight, for you we cry, when instead we should be cheering and chanting.
